wiggling - mar 2007
approaching 8 months old, ava was about a week away from crawling in this picture. strangely, ava never really did learn to crawl properly - only one leg ever worked properly, and the other just dragged behind her like a bird with a broken wing. to this day, if she opts to crawl a short distance, she still does it in a lop-sized crab walk.
this picture is a good illustration of rule #1 of baby photography : "just take a picture. any picture." frequently, we start an ava photo session with a particular idea in mind. although we can't help doing this (again and again) we find that this often produces mediocre results, and that if we get a good picture, it usually bears little resemblance to what we'd intended. this particular session was supposed to produce a fine picture of ava pulling her duck toy.
