snowman

ava's childhood in san francisco is obviously going to be very different from mine in northern ontario. i frequently ponder what it will be like for her to grow up without proper seasons and with only limited exposure to that white snow stuff. well, so far not having real snow hasn't compromised ava's enjoyment of snow. a couple of weeks ago she declared our white living room carpet to be "snow", demanded her hat and mitts, and started pantomiming building a snowman. this weekend daddy took the game quite a few steps farther, and built ava a proper snowman out of the living room throw blankets.

i can't remember what exactly ava was up to while we were trying to take this picture. clearly, it wasn't standing still!
