home again home again

during our final days in thunder bay, i commented to several canadians that if we were lucky, ava and i would arrive back in san francisco just in time for the beginning of summer. this earned several quizical glances, but it turns out i was right. san francisco emerged from the summer fog a few days before we arrived, and when we landed the temperature was a roasting 90 F at the airport, and a lovely 75 F in our neighbourhood. we paused at our house briefly, and then headed straight down to the beach. for the first time, we equipped ava in a wetsuit - which markedly increased her desire to actually stand in the water and get sloshed by the waves.
